Frequently Asked Question
When is the right time to plant xxxxxx?
Last Updated 5 years ago
Timing of getting plants in the ground is very important for successful vegetable gardening in the DFW area. Cool season plants need to reach maturity before the days start getting too hot, or during the fall and most of the winter. Most so-called warm season plants don't withstand our summer heat. Okra and cowpeas can grow in the heat of the summer. Take a look at WhenToPlant.ntvg.org. Also look at the NTVG forum post that has many other local planting calendars.
